Wow what an episode! Honestly I really loved this one! That ending especially really is something, but I feel perhaps I shouldn't say too much going in... 👀

This episode features an absolutely buckwild scene that bombards the viewer with references! The alt sub track on the MKV lists each reference, but only briefly, and it's not included in the regular track at all... So let's go over them in detail here, in order!

03:45 -- This is a reference to Zoffy's first appearance in Ultraman (1966)! Zoffy delivers this same message to a hurt Ultraman who lies in front of him, much like how the puppet lies in front of Wanning and Haina!

03:56 -- Wanning here is quoting a Buddhist incantation, while holding a sword from Genshin Impact for some reason! lmao

04:05 -- Also known as the "Impure World Reincarnation Technique". A technique from Naruto that seems to bind souls into a new vessel.

04:13 -- "Ganglie" is a the name of the pig character from Journey to the West.

04:15 -- Wanning's reciting this spell as best as he could, one from Harry Potter meant to kill the target... Did he want to kill the puppet? D:

04:16 -- Haina here is quoting a personal childhood fave for me here, Cardcaptor Sakura! She's actually mushing together two different incantations of Sakura's. The originals are "I, Sakura Kinomoto, command you under our contract. Release!" and "Card created by Clow, Discard your old form and be reborn, Under the name of Sakura, The new mistress!"

04:18 -- Here Wanning is doing an impression of Son Wukong (Journey to the West), while once again calling the puppet "Ganglie". However, in his Son Wukong voice, Wanning also references Card Captor Sakura! Referencing the incantation, "Key which hides the powers of the dark, Reveal your true form before me." (among other similar incantations). I guess Wanning is a closet Cardcaptor fan lolol

04:32 -- This seems to be another Harry Potter one (at least she won't make a cent off these namedrops ig.....) albeit it a less direct one... it seems Voldemort and Dumbledore have an exchange that goes like
Voldemort: “Nothing I have seen in the world has supported your pronouncements that love is more powerful than my kind of magic, Dumbledore.”
Dumbledore: “Perhaps you have been looking in the wrong places.”

What a scene, huh? o:

Armor Hero Star Ray - Episode 01 Part 1

For people who have been keeping an eye on this show since the first leaks, you know this day is about a full year in the making! So, why is this 13 minutes long? ...Yup! Seriously though, to accomadte for the TV release it was decided to split the initial 18 episodes into 36 half-length episodes so stations could air 4 shows in one block. An odd choice, but it is the choice that was made... ( EDIT: Since then the initial 24 minute cut of the show has been released so we'll be switching over to those) In any case... Personally I really enjoyed the episode part and I hope you all will as well :) While "Armor Hero Star Ray" will be releasing daily in China.
